About The Position

Advanced Clinical Nurse Empower. Lead. Elevate Care. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Executive DON (Ambulatory) , the Advanced Clinical Nurse delivers expert, compassionate, and age-appropriate care in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team. This role combines advanced clinical skills with leadership and mentorship to enhance patient outcomes and promote excellence across the care continuum. As a key member of the Valleywise Health team, you will: Perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications, and develop individualized care plans. Identify and address complex nursing problems with sound clinical judgment and evidence-based practice. Provide and delegate care in alignment with Valleywise Health standards, policies, and best practices. Serve as a patient advocate and educator , empowering patients and families through understanding and compassion. Collaborate across disciplines to ensure continuity, quality, and safety in all aspects of care. Lead by example — offering mentorship and indirect supervision to support staff and foster a positive, high-performing team environment. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives , innovation in practice, and the ongoing advancement of professional nursing. Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing.
  • Must have at least one (1) year of recent acute care hospital RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities, or if completed the New Grad RN program at Valleywise Health then must have at least one (1) year of Valleywise Health experience as a RN and be in good standing.
  • Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, a temporary AZ RN license, or avalid compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.
  • Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
  • Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
  • Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer.
  • Must obtain PALS within six (6) months.
  • Must obtain ABLS within one (1) year.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
  • Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer successfully.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous acute care hospital experience in the area he or she is applying for is preferred.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
