Position Summary: We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our Plaza del Sol Family Health Center in Corona, Queens. As an RN, you will provide comprehensive nursing support and patient care in our family medicine practice for primary care and obgyn services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Nursing is required.
  • NYS Registered Professional Nurse, required.
  • All experience levels are welcome to apply, whether this is your first role as a nurse, or you are coming in as a seasoned nurse.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish full fluency is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, compassion, empathy, and team-driven attributes are essential.
  • Knowledge/training in electronic health records and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients and assists patients with their needs based on acuity.
  • Provides quality nursing care and medication administration.
  • Administers immunizations/vaccines to specified patients.
  • Monitors patient reactions and side-effects.
  • Assists care team with pre-visit planning for high-risk patients.
  • Ensures implementation of plans of care.
  • Behaves as a role-model and source of nursing guidance to medical assistants and phlebotomists that are part of the team.
  • Assists with prepping patients as needed and providing patient education.
  • Assists providers during examinations and treatments.
  • Ensures proper sterilization procedures using germicides, sterilizers, or autoclave.
  • Ensures departmental adherence to clinical policies and procedures.
  • Maintains health records by documenting patient contact and updating patient profile.
  • Implements standing orders.
  • Checks equipment, logs, and medical kits.
  • Assists with ordering medical supplies, medications, and vaccines.
