About The Position

The Registered Nurse - Behavioral Response Team (BERT RN) provides safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients and families, utilizing the nursing process to help them achieve and maintain optimal health. The primary goal of the BERT RN is to act as a preventative measure within the behavioral population, identifying and resolving issues to prevent Code Violets, address dissatisfaction of care, and identify early contributing factors that may lead to agitation. This role involves responding to Code Violets, managing communication, identifying issues for resolution, and conducting follow-up. The position requires a skill set encompassing both medical and behavioral health nursing, proficiency in de-escalation and communication skills, and the ability to identify effective problem-solving strategies while working collaboratively within various teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master in Nursing (MN) (Required)
  • Knowledge of nursing process and practice.
  • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices).
  • Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.

Benefits

  • This position will also receive $4.00/hour in incentive pay on top of the hourly base rate.
