Responsbilities: Responsible for the coordination and supervision of the direct patient care and program implementation for residents/patients in the acute care and residential programs. Assesses the patients/residents needs and coordinates/implements the delivery of quality nursing care, as prescribed by the Treatment Team / Physician. Provides safety and crisis management for the patient populations, and assures a safe and therapeutic environment. Pursuant to this public health order, the following modes constitute as proof of vaccination: an electronic entry in the Colorado Immunization Information System (CIIS); OR an immunization record from a licensed healthcare provider who has administered a COVID-19 vaccine to an individual who provides services for the facility or agency, specifying the vaccine administered, name and title of the person who administered the vaccine, address of the location where the vaccine was administered, and the date it was administered. A COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card (issued by the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control & Prevention or WHO Yellow Card) which includes name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided, and date last dose administered would suffice. Exemptions Workers may be exempt from the vaccination requirements by providing a signed exemption form indicating one of the following: Religious Beliefs Qualifying Medical Reason To be eligible for an exemption based on Religious Beliefs, the worker must provide a written statement describing the worker’s sincerely held religious beliefs and how those beliefs conflict with Colorado’s August 21, 2021 Public Health Order requiring certain healthcare workers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The company may request supporting documentation to further evaluate the request for religious accommodation. To be eligible for a Qualified Medical Reason exemption, the worker must provide a written statement signed by a physician, physician assistant, advanced practice nurse, or certified nurse midwife licensed in the State of Colorado stating that the COVID-19 vaccination for the employee, direct contractor, or support staff is medically contraindicated as described in the product labeling or authorized by the FDA. This statement should not describe the underlying medical condition or disability but should indicate the probable duration of the inability to receive the vaccine. A record of signed exemption forms and statements submitted in support of the exemption request must be maintained in a confidential HR Medical file, separate from the Personnel File.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience of nursing care and interventions with psychiatric patients.
  • Knowledgeable of the psychotropic medications, potential side effects, and psychiatric diagnoses.
  • Ability to direct others in the delivery of services, organize multiple tasks at one time, and problem solve situations under a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to safely implement special treatment procedures.
  • Ability to delegate responsibility to others and assure completion of shift duties.
  • Skill in developing therapeutic relationships with clients of all ages, and work as a member of a treatment team.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • CPR certification is also required.
  • Must be licensed in the State of Colorado or hold a current compact license.
