About The Position

This position utilizes clinical expertise, expert coding knowledge and critical thinking skills to work collaboratively with internal compliance to research medical records procedures and testing accuracy for Medicare Cost Report. We’re looking for a compassionate, sharp, and collaborative RN Auditor ready to make an impact in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment. This position utilizes clinical expertise, expert coding knowledge and critical thinking skills to work collaboratively with internal compliance to research medical records procedures and testing accuracy for Medicare Cost Report. Scope: This position works with the Quality Department, and other Intermountain entities and staff to ensure compliance and appropriate review of charges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (degree will be verified).
  • Current RN License in state of practice.
  • Demonstrated clinical nursing experience in a diverse setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical documentation integrity and/or outpatient coding.
  • Demonstrated experience in chart reviews and/or auditing.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex ideas.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EPIC EMR
  • Transplant experience
  • Three years of health insurance experience.
  • Experience in training and auditing procedures.
  • Clear understanding of health care products.
  • Demonstrated teaching and leadership ability

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and audits medical records in association with medical claims utilizing clinical expertise, assessment of patient and medical documentation.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to conduct review of pre-transplant evaluation charges.
  • Ensure claims are reviewed and released in a timely manner.
  • Train and mentor new or existing staff.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of internal processes and procedures.
