About The Position

This position is for a full-time Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Atrium Health Union. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families from admission to post-discharge. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. The nurse will uphold and promote a culture of safety, continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, and take action as needed. The position requires administering medications, treatments, and therapies safely according to clinical protocols and procedures, demonstrating effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, and fostering team collaboration. The nurse will also pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications while adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics and practicing ethical decision-making.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN).
