About The Position

The position is for a full-time Registered Nurse in the Behavioral Health department at Atrium Health in Charlotte, focusing on inpatient psychiatric care for adolescents. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families from admission to post-discharge. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. The nurse will uphold and promote a culture of safety, continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, and administer medications and treatments safely according to clinical protocols. The position requires effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills, as well as adherence to ethical practices and accurate EHR documentation. The nurse may be required to float to other units and must demonstrate knowledge of age-specific care needs.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
  • No formal RN experience required.
