About The Position

Provides direct nursing care to patients in a healthcare facility. Responsible for preparing equipment and aiding physician during treatment and examination of patients. Responsibilities Provides direct nursing care to patients in a clinic setting to include: Preparing equipment and aiding physician during treatment and examination of patients, performing complex medical testing and providing interpretations of results, consulting with physicians and implementing treatment plans. Administers prescribed medications and treatments, observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions. Provides clinical oversight to Medical Assistants and LVNs. Develops protocols and procedure manuals. Performs daily maintenance checks and the preparation of rooms, instruments, supplies and performs or schedules routine maintenance of equipment. Documents patient care and treatment and assists with training of staff. Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Functions within the required nursing process as defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Supports the mission, vision and patient promise throughout all interactions. Communicates effectively, written and verbally. Analytical thinking this role requires analyzing information and using logic to coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner. Participates as an integral part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing the highest quality of care to the patient. Meets all training and competency requirements.

Requirements

  • Functions within the required nursing process as defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act.

  • Meets all training and competency requirements.
  • Associate’s degree and successful completion of an accredited nursing program is required.
  • Current Texas RN license required, CPR is required.
