About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Ascension Campus is responsible for providing safe and therapeutic care to patients in a holistic manner. This full-time position involves integrating knowledge and skills to meet the needs of patients and their families, ensuring quality care throughout the continuum. The role includes patient assessments, care planning, education, and collaboration with healthcare teams to maximize patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Current Louisiana State license as RN
• BLS Certification
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Proficient in English, both verbal and written communication skills
• Computer skills
• Leadership and communication skills

• Knowledge of discharge planning

Responsibilities

• Perform psychosocial and physiologic assessments that integrate changing data.
• Formulate a plan of care based on trends of similar patients, including patient education and discharge planning.
• Tailor and prioritize caring practices to individual needs, including cultural, ethical, and spiritual needs.
• Participate in planning routine transitional health care needs.
• Respond to changes in patient's needs and provide holistic care using independent clinical judgment.
• Adapt educational programs and information to individual patients and families.
• Collaborate with patients and families to identify realistic desired outcomes.
• Ensure efficiency in the delivery of care and determine immediate priorities.
• Advocate for patient rights and identify potential conflicts.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and revise the plan of care as necessary.
• Document all patient care activities as per documentation standards.
