About The Position

The Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) at the University of Indianapolis Health & Wellness Center plays a crucial role in providing patient care in an outpatient setting. This part-time position involves various responsibilities including phone triage, patient education, care coordination, and administering immunizations and point of care testing. The RN will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure exceptional care delivery to patients.

Requirements

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana as per the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience required.
  • Experience in a medical office or outpatient setting preferred.
  • Proficient in phone triage and patient communication.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Compassionate, caring, accountable, and self-directed.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health records is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in phone triage is a plus.
  • Familiarity with outpatient care processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct phone triage for patient inquiries and concerns.
  • Provide patient education on health management and wellness.
  • Coordinate patient care and follow-up as needed.
  • Room patients and prepare them for examinations.
  • Perform point of care testing and immunizations.
  • Administer allergy shots and monitor patient responses.
  • Conduct blood pressure checks and other vital assessments.
