About The Position

Are you passionate about supporting patients with blood disorders and cancer, and guiding their families through complex treatment journeys? We’re seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse Navigator to work closely with our multidisciplinary Hematology/Oncology team at Schwarz Cancer Center. This role provides personalized care coordination, education, and emotional support to help patients and their families navigate treatment options, appointments, and care plans. This position is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no weekends, holidays, nights, or call. After onboarding and training, one remote workday per week may be permitted. Requirements

Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN).
Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Requires knowledge of personal computers using various types of word processing and database software.
Requires clinical work experience, medical terminology.
Requires understanding of medical record requirements, regulations and policies.

Nice To Haves

Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
3-5 years of experience preferred.
Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
Specialty certifications may be required per unit/department specialty in accordance with the department provision of care.
Oncology experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Coordinate care across all phases of treatment, including diagnosis, therapy, and survivorship
Offer education and emotional support tailored to hematology/oncology patients and their families
Assist providers and team members in outpatient clinics and treatment settings
Support outpatient procedures, including lab collections, medication administration, and specimen handling
Facilitate medication management and patient education
Support prior authorizations for medications and treatments
Prepare documentation and assist with patient charting for new and follow-up visits
Collect data, enter orders, and assist during high-volume clinic days
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings
Engage in daily huddles and organizational committees focused on patient care and process improvement
