About The Position

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Ambulatory Care, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic outpatient setting. Patients typically receive treatment and return home the same day, or care is provided in a post-acute transitional care environment. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth, efficient, and compassionate care delivery. Every screening exam is interpreted by a board-certified radiologist, providing patients with timely and accurate diagnoses for faster treatment and recovery.

Requirements

Current RN license in the state of Florida
Graduate of an approved school of nursing
Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the assigned unit/department
Active RN license in the State of Florida or through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required

Strong communication, organizational, and patient advocacy skills

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Responsibilities

Apply specialized ambulatory care nursing knowledge to promote wellness, restore health, address situational health concerns, and support end-of-life care.
Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans using evidence-based nursing practices.
Deliver age-appropriate care, demonstrating understanding of growth and development across the lifespan.
Interpret patient data to identify age-specific requirements and tailor care accordingly.
Prescribe, delegate, coordinate, and document patient care with skill and consistency, including assessments, education, medication administration, treatments, and safety protocols.
Demonstrate proficiency in nursing procedures and the use of unit-specific equipment.
Prioritize patient care using Evidence-Based Practice Standards.
Identify and resolve problems effectively to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Delegate tasks appropriately based on patient needs and team members’ qualifications.
Communicate clearly and professionally with healthcare team members regarding patient conditions and unit concerns.
Maintain a safe, compassionate environment for patients and their families.
Integrate patient and family education throughout the care process.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and process enhancement activities.
Uphold legal standards, patient rights, and compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies.
Maintain punctual and regular attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and applicable laws.
Adhere to all Orlando Health policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
