About The Position

The Registered Nurse assists the providers, works directly with the patient; handles triages; phone calls; administers medication; works with patients during nurse visits; collaborates and coordinates care with LPNs, MAs, and other ancillary staff. Performs administrative tasks and attends meetings in the absence of the Charge Nurse. Performs skilled nursing assessments. Maintains a professional environment in a multi provider, multidiscipline organization. Maintains a patient centered environment including but not limited to: Provision of care and advocate for patients of all ages and their families based on prudent nursing judgement and acceptable standards of practice. Efficient patient flow, assisting providers and other staff. Perform tasks and procedures within the scope of a registered nurse (R.N.) and legal guidelines of the Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrate competency in these tasks. Adheres to Board of Registration regulations. Perform nursing tasks in all clinical areas. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current state licensure to practice in Massachusetts.
  • Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (C.P.R.) certified.
  • Maintains licensure and certifications.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of: Nursing principles including disease process, certain examinations, observations, laboratory studies and appropriately apply these principles to patient care.

  • Participates in huddles, for daily pre visit planning
  • Quality assurance monitoring – participates in the betterment of the health center through studies and reviews as necessary.
  • Goal setting – assess personal, team, and organization goals.
  • Participates in devising, reviewing, and revising policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Maintains and encourages teamwork approach.
  • Flexibility – maintains flexibility in employee time schedule, duties, and procedural functions.
  • Maintains consistent effort to further goals by modifying and/or improving individual procedures and tasks.
  • Conflict Management – Demonstrates and implements effective problem solving.
  • Identifies task and operational problems.
  • Generates solutions, discuss solutions with charge nurse or Director of Nursing and implements as directed by charge nurse or Director of Nursing.
  • Manages conflict with staff appropriately.
  • Maintains and encourages good communication skills.
  • Gives directions and collaborates with L.P.N.s, Medical Assistants and ancillary staff as needed.
  • Participates in orientation and training of new staff and/or students.
