The Registered Nurse-Acute functions as a vital member of the healthcare team by demonstrating a customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism self-development, and teamwork. The individual utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families. The Registered Nurse-Acute is expected to demonstrate excellent clinical, problem-solving, interpersonal and leadership skills and make decisions consistent with hospital policies, department protocols/guidelines, and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act.

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families.

  • Make decisions consistent with hospital policies, department protocols/guidelines, and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act.
  • Diploma or degree in nursing.
  • Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of employment.
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification awarded by Apex Innovations within 3 months of hire
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Two years hospital nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification awarded by the Emergency Nurses Association within 2 years of hire.
