About The Position

The Registered Nurse - Acute Care position at Kern Valley Healthcare District involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a medical-surgical setting. Requirements

• Current California RN license.
• BLS certificate required; ACLS certificate preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years recent Acute/Med Surge experience preferred.
• Operating knowledge of Electronic Medical Records preferred.
• Ability to pass nursing medical and telemetry tests.
• Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Good interpersonal skills to interface professionally with patients, staff, and the general public.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical setting.
• Communicate with physicians, Nurse Manager, and co-workers about changes in patient's status.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition, including response to treatment.
• Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
• Cross-train in other nursing departments as needed.
