This clinical position provides direct services to clients assigned to the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program who have a severely persistent mental illness. This position provides mental health interventions to clients who require individual community based rehabilitative services and/or group rehabilitative services to maximize the reduction of symptoms of mental illness in order to restore clients to the highest level of functioning while also consulting with the ACT team members to provide the best possible clinical services for clients.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least one-year clinical experience in a hospital setting is required.
  • This position requires a current RN license from the State of Ohio.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of mental illnesses, substance abuse issues and the recovery process.
  • Must be able to assume call on a rotating basis and work a flexible schedule that will include evenings, weekends and holidays as team maintains 24-hour responsibility for client care.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous psychiatric experience is preferred.
  • Certification as a psychiatric nurse is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides assertive community treatment services to clients in accordance with established agency and program policies, procedures, philosophy and clients’ needs.
  • Documents client/program activities according to Agency and Program policies and procedures.
  • Provides emergency first aid to clients.
  • Acts as liaison between physician and other caregivers.
  • Obtains health assessment for new clients.
