Registered Nurse 2 - Vascular Access Team (Nights)

The Vascular Access Team (VAT) is composed of experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) from various clinical backgrounds who work together to provide exceptional care to adult and pediatric patients. As a consulting service for The Johns Hopkins Hospital, we provide assessments, management and education of all things vascular access. Our four distinct services are: adult VAT, pediatric VAT, adult PICCs and pediatric PICCs. We train our nurses to place IVs, midlines, and PICC lines; manage routine and complex central line dressings; and provide emergent access as part of the code response team. We work closely together, relying on our unique skills to provide excellent service in a team-oriented environment. IV experience is required for permanent night shift positions.
Requirements
- Associate degree from Accredited Nursing Program required. BSN/MSN matriculation required within 1 year of hire and completion of degree within 5 years of hire.
- Applicants with an Associate's degree JHH provides Tuition Assistance towards earning your BSN/MSN
- Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
- BLS CPR certification required
- Acute care RN work experience required
- Proficient IV therapy skills required
- Nurses hired with an Associate's degree in nursing must enroll in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of your start date.
