Organization: NICU Cohort 22 Job Summary: Would you like to be trained to work in the NICU with some of our most fragile babies! Are you compassionate, caring, a team player, and willing to learn!!! Then this NICU unit may be for you. This is a 15-bed technology dependent NICU unit in which you would work as a team to provide specialized family centered care to former pre-term infants that are less than 2 years old who require chronic airway or respiratory support in a compassionate and caring manner. Our NICU was founded in 1961 by Mildred Stahlman, MD, the Vanderbilt NICU was one of the first specialized hospital programs in the world created exclusively for the care of preterm infants. Vanderbilt has remained at the forefront of medical care for babies needing intensive care ever since. We are a level IV tertiary care NICU that attends to the complex care needs of more than 1400 fragile newborns per year.

Requirements

  • LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • Experience Level: 1 year

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
  • Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
  • Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
