The position reports to the Director or Manager and involves providing professional nursing services in the assigned area. The nurse will assess patient needs and initiate, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. Collaboration with other clinical and ancillary staff is essential to ensure compassionate and quality care for patients.

  • Perform priority technical procedures safely, effectively, efficiently, and legally.
  • Establish and revise priorities for patient care activities based on acuity, resource availability, and patient preferences.
  • Respond to data indicating potential or actual risk to an individual's health by initiating corrective actions.
  • Maintain accountability for own and delegated actions and decisions based on scientific principles and organizational values.
  • Seek supervision or assistance when unable to perform effectively or safely.
  • Develop or revise care plans based on ongoing data, including measurable goals and interventions.
  • Initiate or maintain interventions to ensure continuity of safe and effective patient care.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes consistently and within established guidelines.
  • Use interpersonal communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Delegate tasks to other staff based on acuity and complexity of needs while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of co-workers through positive role modeling and resource management.
  • Advocate for patients or families to achieve appropriate outcomes.
  • Accept accountability for addressing issues and conflicts within the sphere of influence.
  • Provide constructive feedback regarding nursing professional practice.
  • Participate in departmental and hospital-wide decision-making.
  • Successful completion of an accredited nursing program.
  • State licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Candidates hired after January 1, 2014, must have or obtain a BSN within five years of employment.
  • Ability to maintain certification in the area of specialty based on accrediting body standards.
  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge and competency in nursing care procedures.
  • Advanced analytical skills for solving complex problems related to patient care.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Maintaining license/certification in good standing.
