About The Position

Medication Aide Position Summary: Provide medications and treatments to residents while upholding service standards, philosophy and mission.

Requirements

  • Maintain current Registration with the State
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong customer orientation to older adults
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm and energy
  • Ability to read , write, and comprehend
  • Previous experience working in a senior living environment

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate

Responsibilities

  • Administrator medication and treatments in a timely manner and per physician orders
  • Reorder medication as needed to ensure that medication are available when needed
  • Reports to medication aide relieving you
  • Count narcotics at beginning and end of shift.
  • Report any discrepancy to Administrator
  • Remain on duty until relieved by another medication aide
  • Transcribe physicians order to MARS when received and fax to pharmacy
  • Record vitals signs on MARS
  • Stock medicine carts
  • Call resident’s physicians to report the need of appointment or medication
  • Follow medication management plan
  • Communicate with facility pharmacy of supply needs
  • Designated person in charge when administrator in not on site
  • Participate in and attend all required in-services training sessions
  • Communicate any staff or resident issues with the administrator
  • All task listed on Direct Care Aide Job description
  • All other duties assigned
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with State and Local Regulations
  • Appropriately interact with resident, family member, and other guest
  • Assist all department with other duties as needed and/or assigned by administrator
  • Respond to resident emergencies and act accordingly
  • Communicate any resident concerns/issue to the appropriate person in a timely manner
  • Practice safety in working around and with equipment, chemicals, tools, and utensils
  • Maintain professional relationships with all employees - no arguing
  • Maintain good hygiene and a professional appearance
  • Contribute to resident satisfaction by ensuring that customer’s expectations are met or exceeded
  • Maintain efficient and appropriate communication with residents, family members and guest
  • Contribute to marketing efforts through appropriate interaction with prospective resident and guest
