About The Position

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • Proven experience working as a medical assistant or scribe in a clinical setting, preferably in orthopedics or a related specialty.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical documentation standards.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and orthopedic procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with orthopedic-specific EHR software or scribing platforms.
  • Additional training or certification in medical scribing.
  • Familiarity with insurance and billing processes related to orthopedic care.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately document physician-patient encounters in real time, including history, physical exam, assessment, and plan using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Assist orthopedic physicians during patient examinations by preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, and facilitating patient flow.
  • Coordinate and communicate with clinical staff to ensure timely completion of diagnostic tests, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of orthopedic terminology, procedures, and documentation requirements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support administrative tasks such as managing patient records, scheduling, and handling correspondence related to patient care.
