We are currently seeking a RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician to join our HIMs team. This position is benefit eligible: Idaho State Retirement (PERSI), 401(k), Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and time off accruals. Weiser Memorial Hospital is actively seeking an RHIT to review medical records after discharge for completeness, ensuring compliance with the hospital's bylaws, as well as federal and state requirements. This role involves accurately entering patient abstracts into the medical record deficiency system and processing medical record requests in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have strong clerical skills, organization skills, and medical terminology knowledge to effectively manage records and documentation. Responsibilities include pulling next-day surgeries on time, maintaining accuracy in the medical record locator report, and coordinating record reviews. Additionally, this position requires excellent phone skills and customer service skills to assist requesters with access to and release of information. The RHIT will also be responsible for responding to medical information requests in compliance with hospital policies and state and federal laws, as well as processing incoming and outgoing mail daily. The schedule for this position is Full Time and has a Competitive Salary based on Experience and Idaho Standards. Requirements

  • RHIT Certification preferred.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) preferred.
  • Knowledge of state medical record laws and requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
