Requirements

• Currently registered as American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or via CCI as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
• High School Diploma
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Provides specialized cardiovascular care, while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort.
• Performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment and evaluates patient response to diagnostic cardiac procedures.
• Performs accurate and thorough echocardiograms as ordered by physician.
• Performs specialized testing using computer assisted devices including, but not limited to TEE, Stress Echo, Pharmacological Stress Echos.
• Cross trained to perform EKGs, Treadmills, and Holter monitors as needed.
• Maintains and reviews equipment, ensuring proper function and calibration of machines.
• Maintains high skill level through participation in CQI, in services, ongoing education, and attendance at 80% of staff meetings.
