Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition
  • Registered Dietitian credentials with the American Dietetic Association
  • Active Massachusetts Dietitian license and ongoing CEU maintenance
  • 2 years of long‑term care experience
  • 2 years of long‑term care experience
  • Strong clinical nutrition background with knowledge of therapeutic diets
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with residents, families, and staff

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments, including annual, quarterly, and interim reviews
  • Participate in resident care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Monitor resident weight changes and implement appropriate nutritional interventions
  • Review and approve menus to ensure compliance with therapeutic diet requirements
  • Ensure compliance with Massachusetts DPH, OBRA, and Joint Commission standards
  • Provide nutrition education to residents, families, and staff
  • Serve as a clinical resource to the Food Service Department
  • Participate in surveys, inspections, and required in‑service trainings
