Summary: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to all ages of the life span including pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients served by the Food & Nutrition Department. Assumes responsibility for performing inpatient and outpatient diet instructions including food/drug interactions; completes nutritional assessments (SOAP, nutrition support notes); calculates nutritional requirements; assess adequacy of nutrition support and makes recommendations on TF/TPN; provides nutritional services for specialty clinics (i.e. medical, prenatal, radiation oncology); participates in community nutrition programs; functions as a member of the health care team; to provide optimal nutritional care.
