About The Position

RD Nutrition Consultants LLC is seeking a Part-Time Clinical Registered Dietitian to provide nutrition oversight and support for a Jesuit priest community in partnership with a local retirement residence in the Baltimore City area (northern region). This unique position combines clinical expertise with practical menu and program guidance to support the health and well-being of residents. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) credential required.
  • Active state licensure in Maryland (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical or community nutrition, with experience in menu planning or foodservice oversight preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly with non-clinical staff (e.g., chefs, administrators).
  • Ability to work independently and balance a flexible, part-time schedule.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic diet planning and adult/geriatric nutrition needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct periodic assessments of the community’s nutrition program and dining services.
  • Collaborate with on-site chefs and kitchen staff to review menus, recipes, and meal preparation practices to ensure meals align with therapeutic and general nutrition needs.
  • Provide education and guidance to culinary staff on healthy cooking techniques, menu balance, and dietary modifications.
  • Offer nutrition education and counseling to residents as needed to promote healthy eating habits and disease prevention.
  • Monitor overall dietary quality and provide recommendations that support chronic disease management (e.g., heart health, diabetes, weight management).
  • Conduct general program evaluations and make evidence-based recommendations for menu and service improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with community leadership to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Maintain documentation and communicate findings and recommendations clearly with RD Nutrition Consultants and facility leadership.
