About The Position

The Registered Dietitian represents the key contact with residents to assess nutritional and dietary needs, make recommendations, and work collaboratively with POA or family of residents, the interdisciplinary team (IDT), and with the Executive Chef and Health Services Administrator to deliver those residents’ needs to high standards; is the leader in communicating and implementing new clinical systems and programs, both with the interdisciplinary team and Executive Chef, ensuring that all required statutory actions and documentation are consistently delivered; and ensures that nutritional requirements are incorporated into dining services production and operations, and provides overall planning, recommendations, documentation, and control of resident/patient nutritional needs in the facility to within requirements of company standards and policies and statutory requirements. Full-Time, Non-Exempt. $32.50-$42.00 per hour DOE

Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) and/or have licensure/certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics, successful completion of Dietetic Internship or equivalent.
  • Member of the American Dietetic Association.
  • Must have 5 years of clinical experience in senior living skilled nursing facility, assisted living, rehabilitation, and/or acute care environment.
  • ServSafe Management Certification
  • Strong clinical assessment and evidence-based care planning to identify nutrition risks and implement appropriate interventions in a fast paced environment
  • MDS 3.0/Section K proficiency and strong documentation to ensure accurate, timely, compliant charting and reporting.
  • Collaborative communication with residents/families and the IDT to align goals, educate, and drive follow-through.
  • Regulatory readiness and operational partnership with team to maintain compliance (CMS/HACCP) and translate diet needs into safe, consistent meal service

Responsibilities

  • Conducts Nutrition assessment to determine the nutritional needs, preferences and goals of the residents/clients and actively participate in IDT meetings to develop resident/client care plans.
  • Assesses and completes appropriate MDS 3.0 sections (e.g., Section K Nutritional Status, Feeding Tube, Dehydration/Fluid Maintenance CAAs and care planning).
  • Provide monthly reviews and documentation for residents/clients with significant weight changes, wounds, enteral feedings and other high-nutritional risks.
  • Apply evidenced based research in alignment with the diet manual and company policies to deliver high quality, consistent care.
  • Delivers educational sessions and in-service training for team members
  • Conducts planned regulatory audits together with Hospitality team personnel.
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef to ensure that menus and department policies conform to nutritional standards, government regulations, and internal procedures.
  • Consistently shares opinions and observations of departmental operations with supervisor.
  • Support the growth of team members and interns through education and training as applicable.
