About The Position

Cumberland Hospital is now offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for a full-time Dietitian! Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents, located in New Kent, Virginia, provides comprehensive medical, behavioral, rehabilitative, and educational services for children and adolescents ages 2 through 22 who are challenged by co-occurring medical and behavioral diagnoses. Cumberland Hospital is one of the few specialty children’s hospitals providing dual treatment protocols for both medical and mental health issues. Cumberland includes a 62 bed Hospital Program, a 16 bed Inpatient Acute Program, and 30 bed Residential Treatment Program. Our goal is to stabilize medical problems and help children develop positive behavioral coping strategies using an interdisciplinary approach. Visit us online at: www.cumberlandhospital.com The Registered Dietitan: initiates and completes nutritional screening and assessments of all assigned patients admitted to the hospital; determines appropriateness of tube feeding and/or diet order and provides appropriate recommendations to the medical staff for adjustments to meet patient needs; interprets, adjusts and checks accuracy of diet orders for kitchen staff so that appropriate food items are prepared; provides nutritional education and counseling to all patients and families; provides services to residential units on a consult basis; participates in the discharge planning/meeting of patients with specific nutritional concerns and goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Food and Nutrition required.
  • Registered Dietitan license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children and adolescents who experience behavior dysfunction secondary to brain injury, autism, and other developmental disabilities, chronic medical disorders and other severe and chronic impairments, and their caregivers preferred.
