About The Position

The Aster Springs Richmond locations provide residential and outpatient eating disorder treatment with housing options in home-like settings in peaceful surroundings. With a team of highly credentialed, experienced therapists, nutritionists, and other team members, we ensure that each client receives whole-person and multidimensional care that helps them progress towards recovery. Our compassionate staff works with each client and their family to create an individualized comprehensive care plan that meets their needs. At Aster Springs – Richmond, we provide evidence-based treatment programs to adults of all genders, ages 18 and older. This role will be providing services for our Adolescent PHP location.

Requirements

  • Active First Aid, CPR, AED certification
  • Current Virginia Registered/Certified Dietitian required
  • Current ServSafe certification
  • Bachelors Degree minimum required
  • Successful completion of Criminal Background Check through DBHDS, Background Investigation Unit, and VDSS Registry Searches
  • Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years' experience working with eating disorders preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide nutritional education to clients/staff
  • Assist with oversight of nutritional content and accuracy
  • Determine/monitor caloric intake for clients
  • Individual sessions with clients 1-2 times/week
  • Lead and schedule food challenge outings with clients
  • Work with client/staff to coordinate discharge menus/meal plans
  • Work closely with Executive Director on all dietary policy/procedures
  • Lead cooking/nutrition groups weekly
  • Discuss/meet with families during family week as needed
  • Lead/provide resistance training for clients
  • Determine/monitor healthy weight for clients
  • Perform Dietary Care Specialist duties as needed
  • Assist with preparation of staff/kitchen to be compliant with infection control policies and all accrediting body visits
  • Take client on grocery store challenges
  • Coordinate discharge planning including identification and coordination of care with outpatient dietitian
  • Collect/review/sign off weekly client menus
  • Provide nutrition information for insurance reviews
