Vista Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Dietitian to join our patient-centered care team. The Clinical Dietitian provides overall nutrition care to patients, ensuring their nutritional needs are met through comprehensive assessments, individualized care planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. This position is best suited for candidates with 1–3 years of field experience, preferably in an acute care setting , who are passionate about advancing patient health and wellness.

  • Maintain active dietetic registration, government-required credentials, and licensure , while meeting all continuing education requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients with varying levels of acuity.
  • Provide care to both in-patients (hospitalized) and out-patients (community/clinic-based) as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition intervention plans in accordance with the Nutrition Care Process.
  • Conduct patient rounding to promote engagement and drive patient satisfaction .
  • Provide nutrition counseling to individuals and groups, adapting teaching methods to meet patient learning needs.
  • Incorporate cultural, religious, and age-specific considerations into nutrition care.
  • Document all aspects of the nutrition care plan in patient medical records, including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and progress toward goals.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and food & nutrition services staff to ensure compliance with nutrition orders.
  • Educate staff and patients on food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards .
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and proper use of protected health information .
  • Track and maintain clinical productivity standards , including accurate record keeping for scheduling and billing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of course work accredited or approved by the appropriate nutrition and dietetics agencies.
  • Active Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential.
  • State licensure or formal eligibility to practice dietetics in Illinois.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in clinical or acute care setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in clinical or acute care setting preferred.
