• Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Required

Responsibilities

• Responsible for applying the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) to adult or pediatric populations to identify, treat and monitor nutrition related problems.
• Actively participates in providing outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining respectful relationships with all.
• Contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of patient care through diligent performance of assigned duties.
• Completes nutrition-focused physical assessments, takes measurements, reviews medical records, collects data via interviews, and evaluates anthropometric status.
• Evaluates assessment data to identify nutrition risks, nutrition problems, criteria consistent with malnutrition, knowledge deficits, and high-risk health behaviors.
• Offers nutrition interventions, orders, education, counseling, and referrals to other services. May place feeding tubes or perform indirect calorimetry studies.
• Provides counseling and education using evidence-based techniques that reflect appropriate health literacy and cultural sensitivity to patients with disease processes requiring nutritional management.
• Monitors and evaluates nutrition care plans to reach nutrition goals and promote optimal outcomes.
