About The Position

The Registered Dietitian (PRN) provides direct basic nutrition service and is committed to delivering respectful, compassionate care to patients. The role involves providing nutrition care to the population served to ensure needs and customer satisfaction levels are met, managing and promoting food and nutrition programs, and collaborating with culinary and clinical departments. The dietitian must ensure compliance with all regulations and hospital policies, keep abreast of nutrition-related trends, and implement quality improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or comparable major
  • Post 01/01/2024 Master Degree Required for new candidates seeking eligibility for the registration examination for dietitians
  • Meets eligibility requirements for certification as a Registered Dietitian or 'Registry Eligible' with condition of passing the exam within 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Provides nutrition care to population served to ensure needs and customer satisfaction levels are met
  • Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Manatee Memorial Hospital standards and policy
  • Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests
  • Probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Manatee Memorial Hospital resource when necessary
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Manatee Memorial Hospital/client policies and procedures
  • Keeps abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice
  • Follows operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments
