About The Position

Join a team of dedicated professionals specializing in women's health within the Maternal-Fetal Medicine department. The primary responsibilities include providing nutritional counseling and management for high-risk pregnant patients, including those with pregestational and gestational diabetes. The role also involves offering nutrition guidance to women across the continuum. The registered dietitian provides medical nutrition therapy to ambulatory patients individually or in a group setting. The registered dietitian provides a nutrition assessment, determines and implements a nutrition care plan and intervention. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) - Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Possesses planning, leadership and organizational skills. Demonstrates ability to accept and institute change. Communicates effectively and works collaboratively with others.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy integrated with the patient's medical goals. Identify and provide age-specific nutrition counseling to meet the cultural needs of the patients and their families
  • Evaluate, interpret, monitor and document the nutritional status and nutritional needs of patients using established standards of care and practice guidelines.
  • Develop, review, update and implement educational materials to meet the needs of patients and professionals
  • Completes clinical and educational assessment on all patients.
  • Develops individualized teaching plans for self-management (Diet, Medication, Self-care)
  • Implements evidence based clinical practice guidelines for all area of nutrition education
  • Provides education to all patients utilizing insulin pump.
  • Collaborates will all members of the health care team
