About The Position

As our Registered Dietitian Lead, you will assist with some patient care, but also serve as a training and education resource for the team. You will interact closely with our medical providers, administration, nursing staff, therapy teams, and culinary department on-site to support our patients. Your responsibilities will include providing comprehensive nutritional assessments, developing appropriate nutrition care plans, monitoring outcomes, providing patient and family nutrition counseling and education, developing Nutrition Standards of Practice and Education material in collaboration with peers, participating in interdisciplinary Health Care teams, and providing input into patient care, policies, programs, and quality improvement activities. You will also provide in-service education in areas of expertise. This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some rotating holidays and weekend coverage when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and/or Dietetics.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
  • Current registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Maintains current licensure as required by State law.
  • Three to five years of clinical experience.
  • Ability to function independently and effectively prioritize assigned patient load.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous healthcare leadership experience.
  • Additional certifications such as CNSC, CDE, CSP, CSR, CSO, CSG, CSSD, or CCTD.

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive nutrition assessment of patients' nutritional needs.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of care plan and communicates effectively as a member of the healthcare team.
  • Provides nutrition education to patients, families, staff, and other healthcare team members.
  • Provides leadership to the clinical nutrition team.
  • Assists with program marketing through the development of excellent working relationships.
  • Participates in continuous quality improvement activities in clinical areas.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in area of practice and provides training/educational resources.
  • Ensures proper scheduling of clinical nutrition staff.
