About The Position

Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking a Registered Dietitian to connect with cardiac
and pulmonary rehab patients in an outpatient program. This role is working Day
shift full-time Monday to Friday (40 hours per/week)!

Our team is a high‑performing clinical nutrition service dedicated to delivering
individualized, diagnosis‑specific education. We provide both one‑on‑one and
group nutrition sessions, including interactive food preparation. Counseling and
education are offered in person or through video visits to ensure flexibility
and accessibility. As active members of a multidisciplinary care team, we
collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to support meaningful
and sustainable patient behavior change.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree minimum if licensed before 1/1/2024; Dietitians registered after 1/1/2024 must hold a master’s degree
• Certification:
• Registered Dietitian (RD) required within 3 months of hire
• Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required within 3 months of hire

Responsibilities

• The Dietitian provides safe and therapeutic nutritional care in a comprehensive and systematic manner.
• Provides clinical services and acts as a resource to physicians, nurses and other professional healthcare team members, to provide patients with optimum nutritional care.
• Coordinates the nutrition care plan with the physician and other healthcare providers while serving as a resource in the integration of the nutrition care plan into the comprehensive plan of care for the patient.
• Formulates an individualized nutrition plan of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Collects performance improvement data, monitors outcomes and implements corrective actions.
• Recognizes trends in patient populations, explores alternatives to care and makes revisions to standards.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
