About The Position

Position: Nutrition Consultant- Dietitian Responsible To: Program Director Develop meal plans with appropriate substitutions for specialty diets available for an on-going 4-week cycle. Review information available on individuals including such things as laboratory reports and prescribed medications that might affect food intake and make recommendations to medical staff as needed. Provide input as part of the interdisciplinary team in area of nutritional status as it relates to individuals with chronic health problems related to nutritional deficiencies, modified or special diets, etc. Provide individual counseling to residents based on needs identified in the Life Plan. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings (annually, quarterly) either through attendance or written input to address other than routine nutritional needs. Provide annual nutritional assessment for each individual with interim assessments if required, based on needs identified by the interdisciplinary team. Participate in staff training as needed. Review pre-admission nutritional assessments and provide supplements to the preliminary evaluation as necessary. Maintain working knowledge of Kosher dietary laws and implement restrictions into meal planning. Performs duties according to the highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the facility's corporate compliance plan and all applicable governing laws.

Requirements

  • Current ADA Registration, or current eligibility for ADA registration, or Bachelors degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics or Food Service Management
  • 1 year supervisory experience in the dietetic service of a health care institution
  • Annual participation in the continuing dietetic education
