If you are passionate about making a difference in behavioral healthcare and seeking a rewarding position, we invite you to join us at Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital Consult with patients and family members concerning dietary needs and goals Coordinate Dietary Services Department within The Joint Commission standards for food service and assist Food Services Director as needed. Monitor and document patients care in regards to therapeutic diets. Review patient’s charts to determine need for nutritional assessments . Conduct monthly inspections of the Dietary Services Department. Provide guidance to Food Service Manager and other food service staff as needed. Consider the implications of the aging process in the provision of nutrition. Document patient charts with nutritional planning, and update as changes in nutritional needs occur. Communicate patient special nutritional needs to the Food Service Supervisor in a timely fashion. May inspect meal assembly to ensure trays conform to prescribed diet and meet standards. Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures. Attend all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled. Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality. Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives. Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree
  • At least three years’ dietary experience in a health care facility, with concentration in nutritional assessment and planning.
  • Registration with the American Dietetic Association and/or state licensure required.
  • Flexibility and creativity with a proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
