About The Position

A Dental Hygienist with Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry is a vital clinical partner in delivering exceptional, patient‑centered care. Our hygienists work collaboratively with our dentists and care teams to support the long‑term oral health and overall well-being of every patient we serve. In this role, you’ll do far more than perform cleanings—you’ll build meaningful patient relationships, educate individuals and families on preventive care, identify and address periodontal concerns, and contribute to a positive, team‑driven practice culture. You will provide high‑quality clinical care including dental prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, radiographs, oral cancer screenings, and comprehensive charting, all while upholding the shared standards of excellence that define Riccobene practices. Requirements

  • Ability to reliably arrive by 7:30 AM to support practices operating from 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (hours may vary by location)
  • Completion of an accredited dental hygiene certificate program or Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene
  • Active Dental Hygienist license in the state of work
  • Strong critical‑thinking skills and sound clinical judgment
  • Ability to interpret, implement, and adapt to clinical and operational procedures
  • Demonstrated teamwork, collaboration, and a positive, solution-oriented approach
  • Dependability, initiative, and consistent follow‑through
  • Ability to perform repetitive clinical tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and varying assignments
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA standards
  • Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, procedural documents, and written communications
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions delivered verbally, in writing, or through diagrams or schedules

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history review, dental charting, and periodontal charting, to identify oral health needs
  • Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care using established dental hygiene protocols
  • Obtain and record patient vital signs as part of routine clinical evaluation
  • Perform preventive and therapeutic procedures such as dental prophylaxis, polishing, and periodontal maintenance
  • Capture diagnostic radiographs to support accurate treatment planning by the dentist
  • Apply preventive treatments including sealants and fluoride therapies
  • Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records
  • Document patient dental history, chief concerns, and clinical observations with clarity and precision
  • Communicate relevant findings and patient concerns effectively to the dentist
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, disease prevention, and nutrition to support long‑term oral health
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control standards
  • Support the dentist by completing treatment plans and reviewing recommended care and associated fees with patients
  • Serve as a primary treatment coordinator, helping patients understand next steps and feel confident in their care
  • Perform additional clinical or administrative duties as needed to support smooth practice operations
