Requirements

  • 5+ years proven experience as a Dental Hygienist.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Patient-oriented and friendly personality.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina to meet the demands of the job.
  • Diploma in Dental Hygiene.
  • Valid license to practice.
  • State of Texas Dental Hygiene License
  • Nitrous Oxide Certification
  • Active CPR Certification

Responsibilities

  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for each patient, ensuring their comfort
  • Maintain proper sterilization of dental instruments
  • Perform initial mouth screenings, review oral health history, and assess medical history during appointments
  • Identify and diagnose conditions such as gingivitis, caries, and periodontitis
  • Conduct dental prophylaxis, scaling/root planing, fluoride applications, and sealants
  • Educate patients of all ages on proper oral hygiene practices
  • Provide post-treatment instructions to patients
  • Take digital X-rays and digital wellness scans
  • Collaborate with dentists in selecting appropriate treatments for various dental diseases, including oral cancer
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient charts
