Requirements

  • Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from a CODA Accredited Program
  • Active Illinois dental hygiene license
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA)
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Outgoing and compassionate personality
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Stamina to meet the physical demand of the job
  • Energetic, compassionate individual with a registered dental hygiene license to provide the best dental care to our patients.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Dentrix and/or Eaglesoft Software

Responsibilities

  • The RDH will clean teeth and examine oral areas, head, and neck for signs of oral disease.
  • The RDH also educates patients on oral hygiene, acquire digital imaging, and applies fluoride or sealants
  • Update electronic health records
  • Utilize oral pathology screening tools
  • Proficient in Dentrix
  • Complete radiographs and dental impressions
  • Work with treating doctor to Identify conditions including gingivitis, periodontitis, and restorative needs
  • Perform other identified procedures
  • Provide patient-centered oral health education
  • Offer post-operative instructions
  • Document treatment in electronic records
  • Follow infection control and OSHA standards for disinfection and sterilization of spaces and armamentarium
  • Monitor materials and supplies
  • Provide optimal patient care
  • Other duties as assigned
