Requirements
- Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from a CODA Accredited Program
- Active Illinois dental hygiene license
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA)
- Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
- Outstanding communication skills
- Outgoing and compassionate personality
- Strong attention to detail
- Stamina to meet the physical demand of the job
- Energetic, compassionate individual with a registered dental hygiene license to provide the best dental care to our patients.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with Dentrix and/or Eaglesoft Software
Responsibilities
- The RDH will clean teeth and examine oral areas, head, and neck for signs of oral disease.
- The RDH also educates patients on oral hygiene, acquire digital imaging, and applies fluoride or sealants
- Update electronic health records
- Utilize oral pathology screening tools
- Proficient in Dentrix
- Complete radiographs and dental impressions
- Work with treating doctor to Identify conditions including gingivitis, periodontitis, and restorative needs
- Perform other identified procedures
- Provide patient-centered oral health education
- Offer post-operative instructions
- Document treatment in electronic records
- Follow infection control and OSHA standards for disinfection and sterilization of spaces and armamentarium
- Monitor materials and supplies
- Provide optimal patient care
- Other duties as assigned
