About The Position

The Registered Dental Assistant at Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics plays a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and comfort while assisting dental professionals in various procedures. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
  • Active CPR and AED training
  • Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
  • Experience with dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) is helpful
  • Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
  • Valid Driver's License for travel

Responsibilities

  • Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one
  • Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols
  • Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history and treatment plans
  • Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
  • Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during visits
  • Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences
  • Ensuring exam rooms and operatories are cleaned and stocked
  • Charting existing treatment for new patients
  • Reviewing patient charts and health history prior to doctor arrival
  • Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to patient charts
  • Helping clean surfaces and common areas of the clinic
  • Performing all other duties as assigned
