About The Position

Assist the dentist in performing all dental procedures - attends to the patient, sterilize instruments, cleans operators, performs office tasks, and all other duties necessary for the operation of the dental clinic. Must have communicative skills and be able to follow oral and written instructions. This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.

Requirements

• One year dental assistant program or equivalent.
• Registered Dental Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist in performing all dental procedures.
• Attend to the patient.
• Sterilize instruments.
• Clean operators.
• Perform office tasks necessary for the operation of the dental clinic.
• Register patients and verify insurance.
• Post charges and manage patient records.
• Make, change, or cancel appointments.
• Keep track of supply inventories and place supply orders as needed.
• Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and making temporaries.
• Clean, bag, and sterilize instruments and maintain the sterilization log.
• Clean and disinfect the operatory after patient dismissal and prepare for the next patient.
