Requirements

California Registered Dental Assistant Extended Functions (RDAEF) License
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Willing and able to travel to other MCHC sites for trainings, meetings, and/or to cover shifts as needed.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience working in a dental office with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
Bilingual in English and Spanish (fluent)

Responsibilities

Provide chair-side and clinical support during exams and procedures
Take impressions for models and denture appliances
Place and remove rubber dams or other isolation devices
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care
Prepare and disinfect treatment rooms in compliance with infection control standards
Temporarily cement and remove provisional crowns
Place sealants and perform coronal polishing (with certification)
Place, contour, and finish restorative materials after dentist preparation
Adjust occlusion on restorations
Take final impressions and bite registrations for crowns
Perform oral health assessments in school-based, community health project settings under the direction of a dentist or registered dental hygienist (with certification)
