We have an immediate need for a Registered Communications Distribution Designer! As a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) at UBT, you will be responsible for designing and managing the installation of structured cabling systems and other communications infrastructure. Your role involves creating detailed design plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and coordinating with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality, reliable communication solutions. In this position, you will develop and design comprehensive communication distribution systems, including voice, data, and video networks. You will create detailed design drawings and specifications for cabling infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes. Assessing client requirements and providing recommendations for optimal system design and implementation will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also manage and oversee the installation and implementation of communication systems, coordinating with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery. Conducting site surveys and evaluations to determine design requirements and feasibility will be essential. Ensuring designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and best practices, including ANSI/TIA/EIA, BICSI, and NEC, is crucial. Staying current with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes will help you maintain high standards in your work. Quality assurance is another critical aspect of your role, as you will perform system testing and validation to ensure performance meets specified requirements. Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to communication systems and infrastructure will also be part of your daily tasks. You will prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including design schematics, installation reports, and system specifications, while providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders regarding project status and progress. Finally, you will work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide expert guidance on communication system design and implementation, addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
