About The Position

The Clinical Dietitian at Memorial Regional Medical Center will work in the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation department on a part-time basis. This position will not have a fixed schedule, requiring flexibility throughout the work week, with 3 (8-hour) shifts from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Requirements

• Certified as a Registered Dietitian by the American Dietetic Association.
• Bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition.
• One to two years of supervised practice experience in foods and nutrition.
• Previous experience in health promotion and/or cardiac rehabilitation programs.
• Knowledge of growth and development principles from adult through geriatric stages.
• Certified in Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the nutritional component of programs offered through the Cardiac Wellness Center and Heart Vascular Institute.
• Evaluate and modify the nutritional curriculum as needed based on evidence-based information.
• Access online scheduler daily to manage appointments.
• Provide one-on-one nutrition consultations and document visits in patient medical records.
• Assess patient nutritional status and determine age-specific, disease-specific requirements.
• Use effective interviewing methods to collect and validate patient data.
• Collaborate with patients to set nutrition goals and provide tailored educational materials.
• Evaluate and chart patient progress towards nutrition and weight goals.
• Communicate with program director and medical staff regarding patient difficulties.
• Participate in ongoing program development and community education programs.
• Assist in daily operations of the clinic, including scheduling and communication with healthcare providers.
