About The Position

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Registered Cardiac Sonographer performs high quality diagnostic echocardiograms for outpatients. SUPERVISION: Reports directly to Nurse Manager and/or Charge Nurse RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Performs high quality peripheral vascular studies for outpatients. Performs high quality echocardiograms for outpatients. Processes ultrasound studies resulting in high quality images in a timely and efficient manner. Is knowledgeable of and implements procedures, protocols, standards and guidelines under ASE and the supervision of the cardiologist. Gathers, sends and interprets clinical data as assigned per doctors orders to cardiology PAC system. Documents legibly and charge daily procedures. Handles other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE High School graduate or GED Equivalent; graduate of an approved Ultrasound school. Registered or Registry eligible Cardiac Sonographer either through ARDMS or CCI preferred. CPR Computer skills. Ultrasound machines and scanning skills. Physical Demands/Work Environment Requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal with stressful situations and conflict resolution. Requirements

• High School graduate or GED Equivalent
• Graduate of an approved Ultrasound school.
• CPR
• Computer skills.
• Ultrasound machines and scanning skills.
• Requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to deal with stressful situations and conflict resolution.

Nice To Haves

• Registered or Registry eligible Cardiac Sonographer either through ARDMS or CCI preferred.
