Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience acting as a behavioral aide/technician preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Technological proficiency, including mobile devices for documentation
  • Successful completion of background screening and onboarding process required
  • Successful completion of Maxim Orientation and Compliance training, and all other assigned trainings as applicable required
  • Must meet all federal, state, local and contract requirements
  • Proficiency in the English language required
  • Current certificate as applicable per state and / or client requirement required

Responsibilities

  • Assists student(s), one on one or as a classroom aide, with meeting objectives/goals as stated in their IEP including goals related to math, reading, speech, and independent skills
  • Facilitates teacher-directed learning activities that involve lesson plans, worksheets, reinforcement systems, small groups, social games, work assistance, etc.
  • Assists student(s) in the general education class setting as appropriate and directed
  • Accompanies student(s) to, from and during recess, lunch and community experiences/outings
  • Strictly adheres to confidentiality requirements regarding all matters pertaining to students, parents, parent communications, and/or classroom activities. (Note: Unless instructed otherwise by supervising teacher, all parent communication is the responsibility of school personnel)
  • Assists student(s) with prescribed program activities including those written/recommended by School PT, OT and SLP personnel
  • Implementers/utilizes behavior management techniques at the direction of the teacher and/or other school professional (i.e. BCBA, Psychologist, etc.)
  • Assists student(s) in the development of independent skills through self-care/personal care activities such as toileting, dressing and personal hygiene maintenance
