About The Position

The Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) will work under the direct supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement behavior analytic services for individuals in the Day and Employment Services program. The RBT must adhere to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) RBT Ethics Code and demonstrate a commitment to positive behavioral support strategies. Responsibilities include data collection, behavior plan implementation, staff training, crisis intervention, and assisting in behavioral assessments. The RBT will collaborate with families, guardians, and residential staff to support individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism.

Requirements

  • Completed 40-hour RBT training and passed the RBT Competency Assessment and RBT Examination.
  • Maintain RBT credentials annually.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of all state and agency-mandated training.
  • Must pass a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and consent to the release of information from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be fluent in English with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Strong communication skills for working with team members, families, and community partners.
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions and adapt to various behavioral support situations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data collection systems to track behavior patterns.
  • Graph and summarize behavioral data regularly.
  • Assist in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) through direct and indirect assessments.
  • Support the development and implementation of Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and Behavior Guidelines under the guidance of a BCBA.
  • Assist in crisis situations, ensuring appropriate de-escalation techniques are used.
  • Provide training on Positive Behavioral Supports (PBS), behavior plans, behavior guidelines, data collection, and other behavioral techniques.
  • Collaborate with families, guardians, and residential staff to address behavioral needs and develop individualized support strategies.
  • Attend Human Rights Committee and clinical review meetings as required.
  • Maintain valid Safety Care® certification and adhere to agency safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all agency policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties or substitute for others as needed.
