The successful candidate will play a crucial role in implementing applied behavior analysis (ABA) interventions and supporting students with behavioral challenges in school settings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or related field preferred.
  • Completion of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training program and certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). https://www.bacb.com
  • Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles, behavior intervention techniques, and positive behavior support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, school staff, and behavior analysts.
  • Proficiency in data collection and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Current CPI training certification - https://www.crisisprevention.com/, preferred
  • Previous experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities in a school (preferred).
  • Experience in a school setting (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to address students' behavioral challenges and promote skill development.
  • Collect and record data on students' behavior and progress towards behavioral goals and objectives using established data collection methods and tools.
  • Provide direct behavioral support and coaching to students in various settings, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and other school environments.
  • Utilize positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques to teach and reinforce appropriate behaviors and social skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school staff to create and maintain a supportive and structured learning environment for students with behavioral needs.
  • Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies as needed to address challenging behaviors and ensure the safety of students and staff.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and other members of the educational team to provide updates on students' progress, behavior, and intervention strategies.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in behavior analysis and intervention techniques.
