Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required
  • CPI, Handle With Care, or equivalent crisis intervention certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within orientation period

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Behavioral Health, Social Work, or related field preferred
  • Preferred experience in: Inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health settings Autism spectrum or behavioral therapy program

Responsibilities

  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and skill acquisition programs as directed by supervising clinician or BCBA.
  • Provide one-to-one and group behavioral support to psychiatric patients.
  • Collect accurate behavioral data in accordance with treatment plans and hospital standards.
  • Document patient interactions, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical records (EMR) timely and accurately.
  • Participate in crisis prevention and intervention procedures, including verbal de-escalation and approved physical interventions when required.
  • Maintain constant awareness of patient safety risks including self-harm, aggression, or elopement behaviors.
  • Follow all hospital safety, infection control, and restraints/seclusion protocols.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including psychiatrists, nurses, therapist, and case managers.
  • Participate in treatment planning meetings as assigned.
  • Maintain active RBT certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Complete required hospital competencies, training, and continuing education.
